United Wisconsin is a group of Wisconsinites from across the political spectrum working to advance bipartisan cooperation, compromise, and problem-solving. Historically, Wisconsin has been a great place to live and work because we cherish the rule of law, small businesses, public education, and conservation of natural resources, all of which have made for a strong economy. But lately, politics in our state have gotten too divisive, threatening those core values.
Politics is like driving – if you steer too far to one side of the road or the other, you end up in the ditch. Historically, the strength of Wisconsin’s political system has been its ability to stick to the middle of the road. That course is in jeopardy today.
Our fix: United Wisconsin is seeking to be a “fusion political party” that will nominate major party candidates who reflect and uphold our values. We want to give voters in the middle a constructive way to influence the process so more politicians listen to them. We want our public policy to reflect the will of the majority and represent the interests of all people rather than being dominated by the extremes on either end of the spectrum.
