Our politics are broken.

United Wisconsin is a group of Wisconsinites from across the spectrum working to change our politics. Increasingly, our political leaders only care about loyalty to their party leadership, rather than voters. Our two-party system is dominated by the ultra-wealthy and political insiders, drowning out the voices of average citizens. We need a multi-party system that gives voice to citizen concerns.

There’s a solution. A solution that was banned because it gave too much power to individuals who cared about issues, not politics. A solution grounded in Wisconsin history and so powerful it was used to end slavery. A solution that counters billionaire and special interest power — and makes votes matter more than money. The solution is Fusion Voting.

Our Platform

Rule of Law / Democracy

Wisconsin must be for the rule of law, and honest, accountable and transparent governance. This means that no one is above the law. Elected officials are held accountable through elections, and the peaceful transfer of power is essential to that.  We advocate for the reinstatement of fusion voting to give voters more choice, reduce division, and stabilize our democracy.

Public Education

Wisconsin had the greatest public education system in the country.  Our systems of public education – K-12, technical colleges and universities – are recognized across the state and throughout the nation for excellence. Wisconsin cannot afford for its education system to be a fault-line between red and blue divides, jeopardizing the future of our kids, our economy and our communities.

Conservation of Natural Resources

Wisconsin has been a model for protecting its natural resources, recognized worldwide for its stewardship. Taking care of the outdoor places we love through our commitment to environmental conservation is a Wisconsin tradition. With cooperation, rather than division, policy would reflect the will of the people to protect our environment and way of life.

Small Business

United Wisconsin is committed to common sense, fair and supportive legislative policy to foster an environment where Wisconsin small businesses can thrive and grow. It is impossible to think about Wisconsin’s economy without underscoring the importance of small businesses to its success. There are more than 462,000 small businesses in Wisconsin contributing to the state’s workforce, its entrepreneurial spirit, and its economic diversity. Women account for more than 41% of small business ownership in the state; military veterans make up almost 5% of workers and own nearly 8% of small businesses; and racial minorities own about 11% of all Wisconsin small businesses. Since legislative decisions impact the growth and sustainability of small businesses, United Wisconsin believes it is critical that Wisconsin have a functioning, cooperative and moderate government in place.
